Gas hot water heaters are cheaper to run that an electric hot water heater and are also more environmentally friendly. There are two main types of gas hot water heaters; Instantaneous gas hot water and gas storage water heaters.

Instantaneous gas hot water

This kind of gas hot water system heats up water instantly as it passes through the burner, because the water does not have to be heated all the time, only when the hot water is used, you save energy. These hot water systems generally have a temperature control on the wall inside which allows you to set the perfect temperature to suit you. Tankless gas hot water heaters also mean you won’t run out of water.

Storage Gas Hot Water

Gas storage hot water systems have a storage tank facility but this is normally smaller than your electric tank hot water heater. These tanks work on the same principle as instantaneous heaters but store some of the heated water. A tanks size of 135l – 170L would be big enough for a family of four.
